Import data into the current file

Import 3D scene data

1. Choose File > Import > File.
2. Locate the file you want to import and click Open.

Import other data types

• Open the File > Import submenu and choose the type of data you want to import.

What if...?

• I can't find the file using the Import File dialog box?
  • The dialog box may only be displaying files of a certain type. To open another type of file, click the File Types box (Windows) or Show box (Mac), then click the file format you want, or All Files(Windows) or All (Mac).
  • To search for the file on Windows, click the Start menu, open the Search submenu and click For Files or Folders.

    To search for the file on the Mac, in the Open dialog box, type the file name in the Search box.

• I don’t know how to use the Alias file browser?

• I want to use the Alias file browser on Windows?
  1. Choose Preferences > General Preferences.
  2. Choose System on the left side of the option window.
  3. Set Type of File Browser to Alias.
