This library is a compilation of developer guides used to customize AutoCAD Map 3D. The library consists of the following guides.
The ObjectARX Developer's Guide describes how to use ObjectARX classes to automate and extend AutoCAD Map 3D. AutoCAD Map 3D ObjectARX extends AutoCAD ObjectARX into the AutoCAD Map 3D domain.
The AutoCAD Map 3D .NET API provides access to AutoCAD Map 3D functionality so you can modify and extend it for your own purposes. The API can be used by any .NET language.
The snippets in this guide are mainly in VB.NET, but most samples are available in VB.NET, C#, and C++.
This guide describes how to use the Autodesk Topobase API and associated sample code.
It assumes you have read applicable ReadMe files, reviewed appropriate application Help (as needed), and are familiar with using AutoCAD Map 3D Client or AutoCAD Map 3D Web. All examples also assume that you have installed the sample data and sample applications supplied with AutoCAD Map 3D Client, which are included with the default installation package.
The main objective of this document is to provide information to help you install the AutoCAD Map 3D software and then use it to build applications that connect to and configure providers. “Configure providers” means creating and deleting user accounts, granting and revoking database privileges to users, creating and destroying data stores, and creating and destroying spatial contexts.
The FDO Developer’s Guide introduces the Feature Data Objects (FDO) application programming interface (API) and explains how to use its customization and development features.
The AutoCAD Map 3D Geospatial Platform API is used for managing geospatial data in a map. It shares many classes and methods with Autodesk Infrastructure Map Server 2013 and MapGuide Open Source, so applications written for one product can work in another with minimal modification.
The sample code presented in this document discusses the use of the Geospatial API to help you work with schemas, classes, features, etc.
