Isolating objects

    You can select single or multiple objects and isolate them in the model. For example, you may want to isolate all doors on the 4th floor of a model, which you can select by navigating to parent and child objects in the Properties window. Isolating highlights and automatically zooms in to the object(s). At the same time all other surrounding objects become transparent, giving you a clearer view of your selection in the context of the model.

    Auto-zoom to isolated object

    When you isolate an object the view zooms and highlights the isolated object. For example, the image below shows a door in the model before it is selected and isolated:

    Isolate an object

    To isolate a single object

    1. In the model, tap the object you want to isolate
    2. From the Action menu, tap Isolate

      The isolated object is highlighted and zoomed

    To restore isolated object(s) to normal view

    1. In the model, tap the isolated object
    2. From the Action menu, tap Isolate
    3. The isolated object(s) are restored to normal view, and all other hidden objects are visible

    Isolate multiple parent and child objects

    To isolate multiple dependant objects

    1. In the model, tap an object you want to isolate
    2. From the Action menu, tap Properties

      The selected object appears at the top of the Properties window

    3. In the Properties window, click the angle bracket to the left of the selected object

      The parent object is displayed at the top of the Properties window, with the child objects listed beneath

    4. In the Properties window, tap the parent and child objects you want to isolate Isolate
    Note Tap the angle bracket to the right of the parent object to return to the original child object
