Importing Data and Downloading Templates

To import drawing logs:

1. Navigate to: Document ManagementDrawing Logs.
2. Click Import.
   • To download an Excel template, see Downloading an Excel Template and skip to step 3.
   • To upload data, see Uploading XML Project File.
   

Specific Rules/Conditions

The drawing log has the following special rules or conditions:

• Records marked as a revision, must have a parent drawing that is locatable within the database.
• Revisions never replace original or parent drawings, even if replace duplicates is selected.

If a revised record is being uploaded and multiple parent possibilities exist in the database (for example, multiple drawings with the same drawing number), the first parent potential will be used. For example, the database will allow multiple records to exist with the same drawing number

Fields that can be Imported

In addition, the template file contains a column titled Revision that is used to flag records as revision drawings. To identify a record as a revision, a “Y” must be entered in the Revisions column in the template file.
