How to add your knowledge

File Director Tabs

The File Director module includes the following tabs:

    General Tab

The General tab displays the folder name, the parent folder, the project, the description of the folder, and any subfolders. The Edit button on the General tab allows users with Administrator permission to edit the folder name and description. The Close button closes this pop-up window.

    Permissions Tab

The Permissions tab displays a list of Team Members and Groups and their permission level within the folder. The New button allows you to Setup Team members and Groups with a hierarchical level of permissions. The Edit button on the Permissions tab allows you to edit Team Member and Group permissions for this folder. The Delete button allows you to remove a user from this access list.

The Close button closes this pop-up window. Selecting the hyperlinked Team Member name displays that contacts information. The role of the Team Member is the same role assigned in the Project Team module. Selecting the hyperlinked Group name opens the Group View, displaying all Team Members assigned to this group.

    Auto-Notifications Tab

The Auto-Notifications tab displays a list of Team Members and/or Groups and their notifications. Notifications are Constructware messages and emails sent to the recipient. The Close button closes this browser window.

    File Tabs

The File tabs include the following:

    General Tab

On the General tab, you can view the attribute information on that file. Clicking the Edit button opens an edit screen where you can edit the Title, Drawing #, Revision, Issued By, Discipline, Issue Set, Status, Type, and Notes fields. You can use the Download button to download the file, and the Close button closes this window.

    Reference Tab

The Reference tab lists all reference files associated with the selected file that was uploaded to Constructware. The Download button allows you to select a file in this list to download. You must have Download permission or higher to be able to download a file directly from the server. The Close button closes this window.

    Access Log Tab

The Access Log tab displays a complete history of the selected file. Historical information includes the Version number, the name of the user who accessed the file, the Date and Time the user accessed the file, how the file was used (Action), and any Comments entered while taking that action. Click the Comments button to view any recorded comments. The Close button closes this window.

    Version Log Tab

The Version log displays a list of all of the versions of that file and the date and time they were uploaded in File Director. The Edit button allows the user to change previous file versions (not the current version). You must have at least Add permissions to the folder where the file resides to be able to do so. The Download button allows you to select a file in this list and download the file, provided you have at least Download permission. You can delete a previous version (not the current version) of a file if you have File Director Administrator permission or Delete permission for the folder where the file resides. The Close button closes this window.
