ASIs Buttons

    The following table provides information about the buttons that are available in the ASI module, including an illustration of the button, a description, where the button can appear in the module, and the permissions required for the button to be visible.

    Enables you to attach a selected ASI to other documents that exist within Constructware. The Attach feature links multiple documents together, so you can track all information pertaining to a particular issue.

    Enables you to add comments or notes to a selected ASI. The system tracks the comments and they become a permanent record associated with the ASI.

    Launches the Copy Wizard so you can copy the selected ASI within the same project or from one project to another.

    Opens Module Customization for CCOs with the ASI category pre-selected. Only users with Administrator permission have access to Module Customization.

    Click this button to edit an ASI.

    You cannot edit an ASI that has been routed and is under workflow lock from this location.

    Clicking Edit for an ASI with a “locked” State opens the Edit page with most of the fields marked Read Only, except State, Status, and Linked Documents.

    Launches the Form Letter Wizard where you can create a formal correspondence and link documents.

    This button displays if active form letters exist for ASIs and if you have the ability to create a correspondence.

    Opens the History pop-up window so you can view the Document and Distribution History.

    The History pop-up contains two tabs:

    • Document: Displays the document version.
    • Distribution: Displays the Distribution History.

    Enables you to edit multiple ASIs at the same time.

    Creates an ASI.

    Opens the Process Wizard, where you can create a cost event from the ASI. You can process ASIs into the following document types:

    • Cost Event (with optional ability to Create Item)
    • CCD
    • Issue
    • Project Task

    The Process button is always available, however, you must have rights to create the destination document for that document type to appear.

    Completing the Process Wizard from the ASI module records the Destination Document on the Referencing Docs tab as the “Destination/Parent” document. Processing a different document type to an ASI records the document on the Referencing Docs tab as the Source document.

    Click the Push Down button to use the same value for all Design Reviews. Enter the value in the top field and then click the Push Down button to display the value in the same field for the other entries. Main log

    Click the Quick Add button to add contacts and companies to your document quickly. When you click the button, the Quick Add pop-up displays so you can type a string of characters and then click Add. If there is no exact match, the standard contact dialog displays so you can select from the found matches, or enter additional search criteria.

    Enter the text in the form of “firstname lastname (company)”. If you enter only one word, the system considers it a last name. Anything entered between parentheses is considered to be a company name. Note: If you are using a project-specific document, the contact names default to the members of the project team.

    Opens the Reports module with the ASI category pre-selected so you can view all reports associated with the ASI.

    This button is available to users with at least View Reports permission.

    Creates a new instance of a selected, locked document, creating a version history of the document.

    Only Created By, Author, or users with Administrator permission can revise a document.

    Routes the selected ASI for approval.

    Saves the entered information and refreshes the current page.

    Saves the entered ASI information, closes the current window, and returns you to the log.

    Saves the current ASI and creates an ASI record.

    Opens the Send Wizard, where you can send the ASI by message, email, fax, and/or build a distribution list that displays on the document. See Send Wizard for more details.

    Only users with the Initiate Fax permission can send the ASI as a fax.

    Checks the spelling of the text fields on the ASI. The spellchecker checks all text fields, regardless of size.

    Enables you to view the ASI in a formal document. The document contains all information pertaining to the ASI.

    Enables you to view the ASIs Main Log to check for changes, prompt for a save, if any, and return to the log.

    Voids an ASI, changing the state of the record to Void and removing it from the log. By default, voided records do not display.

    Only the document owner or users with Administrator permission can void a locked document.
