Importing Navisworks Files

You can import Navisworks clash detections into Design Review and each imported clash becomes a unique Design Review entry. The system uses any existing defaults for Design Review if that data is not supplied. The associated files for each clash are loaded into the Documents Reviewed section of the Design Review.

1. Navigate to: Document ManagementDesign Review.
2. Click Import.
3. On the Import Design Review Records dialog, select the Notify Me When Import is Complete and Documents Have Been Uploaded checkbox if you want to continue working and have the system notify you when the import is complete.
   • If you select this option, a progress bar displays in the bottom portion of the dialog on the Import Results page to indicate the download progress. A Results Confirmation message displays when the import is complete. You can click the link to view the result details.
4. Click Continue.
5. On the Import Navisworks Files dialog, highlight the file(s) to import and click Select.
   • The output of Navisworks Clash Detective should have provided you with one .xml file and a .jpg file for each clash. Select the .xml file and all of the .jpg files for the import to create the design reviews and the associated reviewed documents successfully.
   • You can create a .zip file of the clash output to increase the speed of the upload of files to the server. After the upload is finished, the .zip file is automatically unzipped and processed. However, you can only upload one .zip file at a time, and only one .xml file per .zip file.
6. Click Continue.
