The SOV Setup tabs include the following:
General Tab
On the General tab, you make a decision about what type of SOV to use for the project. A “Percent Complete” SOV is typically used for Lump-Sum projects or other projects where progress per item is measured by what percent complete the item is at any given time. A “Units Complete” SOV is typically used where progress is measured in terms of the number of units actually placed in a given period.
- If your SOV needs to be mixed, use the Units Complete option, and use a unit of “1” for the items that are measured as a percent complete. Then, in the SOV tab, input progress as a decimal. For example, if 10% complete, enter “0.1” as the number of units completed.
- The options on the General tab are locked after a Pay App is created and progress is saved against any line item. You can no longer change the type of SOV.
Headings Tab
Work on the Headings tab to create new SOV Headings and edit existing headings.
Heading Items Tab
Work in the Items tab to create items for each heading, including their descriptions, amounts, and include after dates.
Copying Headings, Items, and Amounts
Constructware allows you to copy SOV Headings and items in the following ways.
- Copy SOV Headings - Select this option to copy between projects or within the current project. With this option, you can also copy the items, amounts, and budget codes. To include the amounts or budget codes, you must select items. The Allow Cost Item Creation option in Module Customization must be enabled for the From Projectand the To Project to copy the budget codes. If this option is not enabled on either project, the Include Budget Codes checkbox is grayed out and unavailable for selection.
- Copy SOV Heading Items - Select this option to copy items from one heading to another heading within the project you are currently working. Optionally, you can include the amounts and the budget codes. The Include Budget Codes checkbox is available for selection only if the Allow Cost Item Creation option in Module Customization is enabled.
See Module Customization for Contractor Pay Apps for more information about the Allow Cost Item Creation option.
