Using Password Protect

    No headers

Constructware allows the user to upload document templates that have been previously protected, so that others can view but not change documents based on it.

To protect the document before you upload it, select Protect Document under the Tools menu. This action enables you to choose the type of protection you would like for Tracked Changes, Comments, or Forms. If your document is broken into sections, you can also specify which of these sections will be protected.

Constructware generally recommends using the Forms option (with or without sections in the document).

You can upload a protected document into Constructware as you would any other document template. It will later allow bookmarks to be set in the appropriate modules, but will not allow users to edit the protected section(s).

Note that while Constructware supports password protection within the document, it does not support file-sharing options. Document templates that require a password to open or modify the file should not be uploaded to the system. Such file sharing permissions are distinguished from file protect.

NotePassword protection works only for Word 2003. It does not work for Word 2007.
