Renaming a Module

    To rename a Cost Management module, first make a copy of the current, active template and give it a name that will be associated with the new module name.

    To rename a module:

    1. Navigate to: MaintenanceData MaintenanceModule Customization.
    2. Select the module and click Edit.
    3. Click the Labels tab.
    4. Select the template that is currently “In Use” and click Copy.
    5. When the system prompts to make sure you want to copy the selected template, click OK.
      • The new template displays in the log. The name of the new template begins with “Copy of” and the template number “Copy of.”
    6. Select the new template and click Edit.
    7. Verify that the template State is Active.
    8. In the No. field, enter a unique number for the template.
    9. Enter the Name.
    10. Select the In Use checkbox.
      • The system prompts you that another template is currently in use for this module.
    11. Click OK to make this template “In Use” and continue.
      • You return to the General tab for the new template.
    12. Enter any Notes to explain the purpose for the new template.
    13. Click the Attributes tab.
      • The system prompts you to save the current changes.
    14. Click OK to save the changes.
      • The Attributes tab displays.
    15. In the Module Name attribute row in the Module Tab section, click the Custom radio button.
    16. In the Custom field of the Module Name attribute row, enter the alternate name that you want to use for the module, for example, “Clarification Request.”
    17. In the Module Name - Plural attribute row, click the Custom radio button.
    18. In the Custom field of the Module Name - Plural attribute row, enter the plural version of the alternate name for the module, for example, “Clarification Requests.”
      • If the Module Name - Plural is 14 characters or less in length, then it displays in the menu. If it is more than 14 characters in length, then the Module Abbreviation - Plural will display in its place.
    19. In the Module Abbreviation attribute row, click the Custom radio button.
    20. In the Custom field of the Module Abbreviation attribute row, enter the abbreviation of the alternate name for the module, for example “CR.”
    21. In the Module Abbreviation - Plural attribute row, click the Custom radio button.
      • If the Module Name - Plural is more than 14 characters in length, then the Module Abbreviation - Plural will display in its place.
    22. In the Custom field of the Module Abbreviation - Plural attribute row, enter the plural version of the abbreviation of the alternate name for the module, for example, “CRs.”
    23. Click Save or Save/Close.
