You can use Flame to emulate a VTR for both input and output in real time. When configured to emulate a VTR, Flame can be controlled, using an RS-422 interface, by a third-party application or device allowing you to:

    • Load a clip into the Output Clip menu, enable an emulator and then use another application or device capable of capturing from a VTR to capture the clip.
    • Enable an emulator in the Input Clip menu and then use another application or device capable of outputting to a VTR to output clips to the Flame workstation.

In all cases, you control the emulator from the application or device that treats Flame as a VTR device.
