Standalone installation
The stand-alone license, is validated by a serial number, as opposed to the network license.
- Launch the installer. At the Introduction pane, click Continue.
- At the License pane:
- Choose "I have a license for Smoke".
- Choose License Type: Standalone.
- Enter your serial number and click Continue.
- At the Configuration pane, select the components to install, and click Continue. If you do not install the tutorials, you can install them later by running the installer again.
- At the Media Storage pane, review the media storage device chosen by the installer. You can change it by selecting another device, if any. When the correct storage device is selected, click Continue. When the software is installed, the Summary pane is displayed. Click Done. If any previous version of Smoke was installed, this step is skipped, and you are not prompted to set up media storage. Use Smoke Setup after installation to change the media storage.
- Launch Smoke from the Autodesk folder in Applications. When prompted, click Enter Product Information.
- Enter your serial number and click Next.
- In the Activation Complete dialog, the path to an HTML file containing activation information is displayed. You can click on it to read the information in your browser.
Once installed, a license can be moved from one computer to another with the License Transfer Utility. See the Licensing Guide for Media & Entertainment 2012 Products (PDF): http://www.autodesk.com/me-licensing-2012-enu.
