Copy to Construction

    This feature enables you to select faces and surfaces in the graphics window, and then copy them to the Construction environment.

    In the Construction environment, you can edit the surfaces and use them to perform parting design.

     

    Procedures:

    Copy to Construction

    This command enables you to select faces or surfaces in the display window and copy them to the construction environment. Edit the geometry in the construction environment.

    1. In the Mold Design browser, right-click a plastic part node, and then click Edit Component.

      The browser switches to Model browser.

    2. Click the Model tabac.menuaro.gif Surface panelac.menuaro.gif Copy to Construction .
    3. In the graphics window, select faces or surfaces to copy.
    4. In the Copy to Construction dialog box, click Apply.
    5. Click Done.

    Note: After you copy the surfaces and close the Copy to Construction dialog box, double-click the Construction node in the Model browser to enter the Construction environment.

    Copy to Construction

    Copies faces and surfaces that you select in the graphics window to the Construction environment.

    Access:
     On the Model tab, Surface panel, click copy_surfaces.png Copy to Construction.
    Select

    Face

    Specifies the model faces or surfaces to copy.

     

    Delete Original Surface

    When selected, you can edit surfaces only in the Construction environment. Otherwise, Mold Design creates a Thicken/Offset feature at the end of the part.
