Use the Convert IDW to DWG task to convert .idw files to Autodesk Inventor .dwg files.
You can select specific .idw files, .idw files in a directory including subfolders, referenced by an assembly, or in a non vault Autodesk Inventor project.

Before you begin
Convert IDW to DWG Procedure
The information in the task list switches accordingly, and shows any Convert IDW to DWG tasks you saved previously.
Convert IDW to DWG.If you select Add Folder, to include subfolders, click the corresponding level of the Recursive column.
If necessary, repeat the steps to add more files and folders.
If you select Add Project, you convert all the legacy files within the project you specify.
Note: You can use the Task Scheduler while you run Autodesk Inventor. For optimal performance, close all Autodesk Inventor sessions before you run a task and do not start a session while a task is running.

If it is the first task you create during the current session, the Authentication dialog box is displayed. Enter your Microsoft Windows log in name and password.
The task is displayed in the task list. You can close the Autodesk Inventor Task Scheduler window. The task runs as scheduled.
The log file reflects the success or problems in the conversion.

Project Setting
Provides a list of the names and locations of your projects from which to select a project to include in the task you are creating.

Shrinkwrap Assembly
Log file items for shrinkwrap operations are common to all tasks.
Messages display to explain the nature of any failures.
The Task Summary in the log file shows how many files are processed and how many of them failed. A summary of failed files is included.
The last entry is the task end date and time.
Sequential Task
The log detail for sequential tasks is the same as all sub-task types. Refer to the log description of each task type.
Custom Task
There is no log file information generated for custom tasks.
