Import CATIA V4 files

In addition to CATIA V5 files, you can now open, import, place, or drag and drop CATIA V4 models into Inventor files. Associativity is not maintained, but the imported model behaves as if it were created with Inventor. Select from various import options to achieve the appropriate model characteristics.

If you choose to import CATIA mesh data, Inventor creates mesh features and groups them under mesh folders in the model browser. The mesh features are for visualization purposes only and cannot be modified, although you can alter visual attributes.

General translator enhancements

Choose translation report options when you import models from other CAD systems into Inventor. You can embed the report in your file. You can also save the report to disk.

Inventor also augments the powerful interoperability features with additional version support for both import and export export operations.

Use a JT configuration file when exporting to JT. Inventor uses the levels of detail parameters in the configuration file to guide creation of the JT facet data.
