Temperature at flow front is Too Low

    About this result

The Quality Prediction result indicates that this area of the part can have quality problems. The temperature at the flow front at the point you selected is too low for the material you chose. There can also be other problems.

If a part has a yellow or red Quality Prediction result, find out why. If it is due to low temperature, make some of the changes recommended here.

If the part is mostly green with some small yellow areas, it can be acceptable. However, carefully examine the other result displays to see exactly how and where the results went wrong.

What problems can low temperature cause?

If the temperature at the flow front is too low in a thin area of the part, hesitation or short shot can occur.

If it is too low in an area where weld lines are present, the weld lines can appear worse, and can be structurally weaker.

    What to do next

Increase the melt or mold temperature

Material degradation and an increase in cycle time can occur. Keep the temperature within the recommended limits of the material.

    Decrease the injection time

This action can cause excess shear in the gate if it is restrictive. Too much shear causes degradation and surface defects.

Increase the thickness in the area to permit flow

This action can cause a functional problem with the design.

For hesitation in thin ribs, decrease the draft angle slightly

This action can cause a functional problem with the design. If you reduce the draft on ribs, it can be hard to eject the part.

Move the gate away from the hesitation area

This action can cause hesitation or other problems elsewhere in the part.

Select a material with a higher melt flow (lower viscosity)
