No headers| | The Drawing Resources folder in the browser contains a definition of a default border that you can add to new drawing sheets. You can also define a custom border, or copy a drawing border definition from another drawing. You can change the size and general properties of the default border or a zoned custom border as you add it. |
Work with Borders
The standard drawing templates contain a default border that you can modify. You can also create two types of custom borders: a zone border, or a border with no predefined zones. The new custom border is added to the Drawing Resources folder in the browser.
Procedures
Create a custom border
- Open the drawing file or template that is to contain the border format.
- In the drawing browser, expand Drawing Resources, right-click Borders, and then select Define New Border.
- Use the commands on the ribbon to create the border.
- Right-click the sketch window, and then choose Save border.
- Enter the name of the new border in the dialog box, and then choose Save.
Define a zone border
- Open the drawing file or template that is to contain the border format.
- In the drawing browser, expand Drawing Resources, right-click Borders, and then select Define New Zone Border.
- In the Default Drawing Border Parameters dialog box, set default parameters for the new border, and then choose OK.
- Use the commands on the ribbon to create the border.
- Right-click the sketch window, and then choose Save border.
- Enter the name of the new border in the dialog box, and then choose Save.
Define title block connection points on a custom border
Insert a drawing border
A sheet can include only one border. Delete the existing drawing border before you place a new border in the sheet.
- In the browser, expand Drawing Resources and Borders.
- Double-click the border to insert it in the current sheet.
Insert a zone border with specific properties
- In the browser, expand Drawing Resources and Borders.
- Right-click a zone border and select Insert from the menu.
- In the Drawing Border Parameters dialog box, edit the border properties.
- Click OK.
Edit a border
- You can change the number of zones and labeling for a custom border placed in the drawing. Right-click the drawing border in the browser and select Edit Instance from the menu.
- You cannot edit the default border after it is placed. To change the border, delete it and insert a new border with the appropriate properties.

Default Drawing Border Parameters
Changes the properties of the default border as you add it. Sets the default parameters for user borders.

Zones
Horizontal Zones | Number of Zones sets the number of horizontal zones. Label sets the label style for horizontal zones. |

Text Style | Sets the text style for the zone labels. Click the arrow and select the style from the list. |
Text Layer | Sets the layer for the zone labels. Click the arrow and select the layer from the list. |
Line Layer | Sets the layer for the border geometry. Click the arrow and select the layer from the list. |
Label Zones From | Bottom/Right starts the labeling at the bottom, right corner of the page. Horizontal labels proceed from right to left and vertical labels proceed from bottom to top. Top/Left starts the labeling at the top, left corner of the page. Horizontal labels proceed from left to right and vertical labels proceed from top to bottom. |
Delimit Zones By | Line sets lines to indicate the boundaries. Arrowhead sets arrows to indicate the boundaries. |
Center Marks | Adds center marks into the border. |
Sheet Margins | Sets the margin between the edge of the page and the border line on each side of the sheet. |
Edit Drawing Border Parameters
Changes parameters of a custom border as you add it. Sets parameters for a custom border placed in a drawing.
Access: | In the drawing browser, expand Drawing Resources and Borders, and right-click a custom border. Select Insert from the menu. In the drawing browser, expand a sheet and right-click a custom border instance. Select Insert or Edit Instance from the menu. |
Horizontal Zones | Number of Zones sets the number of horizontal zones. Label Sets the label style for horizontal zones. |
Vertical Zones | Number of Zones sets the number of vertical zones. Label sets the label style for vertical zones. |
Label Zones From | Bottom/Right sets the base point for zone labeling to the bottom right corner of the drawing border. Top/Left sets the base point for zone labeling to the top left corner of the drawing border. |
