Changing the Intent Model

You may change the behavior of the active Intent model in several ways:

1. Edit the root design of the current model or a child in the Design Editor:
   

   Launch the Design Editor from the ETO panel on the Tools tab to edit designs.

2. Supply or change parameter values:
   

   Use Parameters... to modify parameter values on an existing Intent part.

3. Adding Dynamic Children:
   

   Use Add Child... to add a dynamic child to the selected part in an existing model.

4. Changing Design of the Root Part:
   

   Use Change Root Design... to replace the design of the top level assembly with a different design. Optionally, you can delete dynamic rules and dynamic children while changing the root design.

5. Editing Child Rule in Design Editor or Part Editor:
   

   Use Edit Child Rule to show the source of the rule that creates the selected part. The rule source is displayed in either the Design Editor (for a design child) or the Dynamic Rule Editor (for a dynamic child).

6. Editing Dynamic Rules:
   

   Use Edit Dynamic Rules... to view and edit the dynamic rules on the selected Intent part.

7. Cleaning Dynamic Rules and Children:
   

   Use Delete Dynamic Rules to remove the dynamic rules on the selected Intent part.

8. Import Model from external file:
   

   Use Import Model File... to import a previously exported model (*.ikm) file into the current model at the selected node.

9. Reload designs from disk:
   

   Use Revert All to reload all design (*.iks) files from disk, which is especially useful when modifying designs using an external editor.
