    Autodesk Inventor LT View has a variety of learning tools to assist you, whether you are a new user or an experienced CAD user.

    To gain access to Help

    Use any of the following methods to gain access to Help.

    • Click Help on the menu bar to open Help, and then browse to the desired topic. You can use the tabbed pane to access the Index or to search the Help system. You can also navigate through the home page.
    • In an open dialog box, press F1 or click the Help icon to open the Reference topic for the active command.
    • In the graphics window, press F1. The Procedure topics for the current command appear.
    • Select Help Help Topics from the Autodesk Inventor LT View menu bar.

    To search Help

    Another method for finding Help topics is to use the Search tab.

    1. Click Show in the browser toolbar if the tabbed navigation pane is not displayed.
    2. Click the Search tab.
    3. Enter text in the search text box, and then click List Topics. Use quotation marks (" ") around the search criteria to search for a string. Use an asterisk (*) before or after text as a wildcard.
    4. Double-click a topic or select a topic, and then click Display to show the topic.
    5. You can also select one or more of the following Search options to limit the results.
      • Search previous results
      • Match similar words
      • Search titles only
    6. Use operators to further refine your Search criteria. Click the right arrow next to the search text box, and then select one of the following operators.
      • AND: Use AND to search for topics with more than one set of your search criteria.
      • OR: Use OR to search for topics with at least one of your search criteria.
      • NEAR: Use Near to search for specified text within close proximity to each other.
      • NOT: Use NOT to search for topics that do not include your search criteria.

    Autodesk Inventor LT View Help

    On the menu bar, click Help. The home page of Help appears.

    You can use an alternate method to locate a topic, if you prefer. Click Show on the Help toolbar to open tabs. Locate a topic from the home page, index, or full-text word search. You can add or remove topics on the Favorites tab.

    Help topics have tabs for the three topic types. If there are corresponding topics for procedure, reference, or concept, you can click the tab to display the other topic. At the bottom of the topic, there are links to See Also topics. Use the Comments link at the bottom of a Help topic to send information to the Design System Support (DSS) team.

    Procedure

    Gives step-by-step instructions for a specific task. Procedure topics have a blue banner. Use one of the following methods:

    • Click the Help icon, and then browse to procedure topics from the home page.
    • In the graphics window, press F1. The procedure topic for the current command appears.
    • In a reference or concept topic, click the procedure tab to go to the related procedure topic.

    Reference

    Describes entries and actions for dialog boxes. Reference topics have a teal banner. Use one of the following methods:

    • In an open dialog box, press F1 or click the Help icon to open the reference topic for the active command.
    • In a procedure or concept topic, click the reference tab to go to the related reference topic.

    Concept

    Provides conceptual overview for a task. Concept topics have a brick-red banner. In a procedure or reference topic, click the concept tab to go to the related conceptual topic.
