Managing Locks

Use the Revit Server Administrator to lock the central server, models, or model folders. You can prevent team members from accessing the locked models (for example, synchronizing with the central model) while they are being backed up or restored.

To lock an item

1. Open the Revit Server Administrator.
2. In the tree control, select the item, and click (lock).
   NoteYou can also use the Revit Server Lock and Save Command-Line Utility. If you use the command-line lock command, the lock icon displays after a refresh operation.

When an item is locked:

• The lock symbol displays to the right of the (server, folder, or model) icon.
• All parent folders of the locked folder display an icon that indicates they contain locked items.
• Child folders are also locked.
