Modifying Railing Joins

    Use the following procedure to override joins for a railing on a join-by-join basis.

    1. Open the plan or 3D view where the railing is located.
    2. Select the railing, and click Modify | Railings tabMode panel Edit Path.
    3. Click Modify | Railings > Edit Path tabTools panel Edit Rail Joins.
    4. Move the cursor along the path of the railing.

      A box displays around the join as you move your cursor over it on the path.

    5. Click to select the join. When the join is selected, an X displays on the join.
    6. On the Options Bar, for Rail Join, select a join method.

      Join methods are set by the Angled Joins and Tangent Joins parameters for the railing type. For more information about these parameters and join methods, see Railing Type Properties.

    7. Click Finish Edit Mode.

    • richard.jacunskiTue Aug 23, 2011 1:11 pmUnlike the large gray box that displays when you are editing a wall join, the box in this case is magenta and looks somewhat like an endpoint snap. Are you seeing that after you click Edit Rail Joins? Or are you not seeing any box at all?
