Define rooms and areas in the building model to plan occupancy and usage of a building, and to perform basic analysis of the design.
Architects, designers, and structural engineers use areas to plan occupancy and usage of a building, and to perform basic analysis of a design.
In Revit MEP, mechanical engineers can use room-bounding information as a starting point for defining spaces and zones for heating and cooling loads analysis.

loboarchWed Mar 14, 2012 5:03 amWalls and room are 2 different kinds of objects. Rooms are not really "3D" you can calculate the volume of a room object if you turn volume calculation on.
Walls are 3D elements, you can learn how to place them here. Just because you have enclosed a space with walls it is not technically a "room" until a room object is placed.
