The Crop Regions of sections and plans (horizontal sections) allow you to break a view into seperate graphical parts. Selcting the Crop Region brings up the region with small z symbols indicating vertical and horizontal View Breaks.

You can use drag controls and View Break controls to resize a crop region. View Break controls remove portions of the view. If you need to show the crop region, see Showing or Hiding Crop Regions.

To resize a crop region using drag controls:

Select the crop region.
Drag the blue arrow controls to the desired size.

To resize a crop region using View Break controls:

Select the crop region.

Move the cursor near a break line control ().
As you place the cursor near a break line control, the portion of the view that will be removed is indicated by the X.

Click the control to break the view into separate regions.

Two new crop regions created

You can resize the split crop regions using the drag controls and the View Break controls. You can consolidate the split crop regions by dragging the boundary of one crop region on top of the other. A message indicates that the regions will be consolidated.

Moving crop regions

In the center of each Crop Region is a small arrow which can be used to move the crop regions.

NoteIf you turn off the crop region in the view, all split crop region information is lost. If you later turn on the crop region, you need to recreate the split crop regions. Turning off the crop region is not the same as hiding the crop region. When you turn off the crop region, a message notifies you that split crop region information will be lost. If you can hide a crop region and then show it again, the split crop region information is retained.

mdwWY17Wed Jun 1, 2011 7:40 amA little more explaination would be helpful here.First off if you move your cursor to one of the squiggley handles in revit they are called "View Break". Searching for that brought me to this page just because the words "view" and "break" are both in this page. Here they are called "break line controls". Nothing here is said about how to move the two crop regions together which I finally figured out you have to grab the little double arrows in the middle of the region to move. On an actual model that little arrow pair doesn't stick out well amongst all the stuff behind it.

loboarchWed Sep 28, 2011 1:30 pmI am not sure I understand the question you are asking? When you say your "offset" what exactly are you taking about, perhaps the annotation crop region? The crop region should always display the control grips. There is not really a way to turn them off or lock the crop region. Perhaps with more information I can understand the issue better.
