Creating a Decal Type

    1. On the ribbon, click (Decal Types).

      Where is it?

    2. In the Decals Types dialog, click (Create new decal).
    3. In the New Decal dialog, enter a name for the decal, and click OK.

      The Decal Types dialog displays the new decal name and its attributes.

    4. For Image File, specify the file to use.

      Click (Browse) to navigate to the file. Revit supports image files of the following types: BMP, JPG, JPEG, and PNG. See Best Practice for Storing Image Files.

    5. Specify the remaining attributes of the decal.

    6. Click OK.

    Now you can place instances of the decal type in the building model. See Placing a Decal in a View.

    Revit Structure

    In Revit Structure, you can only define decal types. To place decals, use Revit Architecture or Revit MEP.
