No headers You can export shared parameters from a family or project to a new or existing shared parameter file. Use these steps if there are shared parameters in the family or project that are not in the current shared parameter file. For more information about adding shared parameters, see Adding Shared Parameters to Families and Project Parameters.
- Create or open a shared parameter file (the target file to which shared parameters will be exported).
See Setting Up Shared Parameter Files.
- Select a shared parameter in a family or a project, as follows:
- In a family: In the Family Editor, click Home tab > Family Types, and select the parameter to export.
- In a project, do one of the following:
- Click Manage tab > Project Parameters, and select the parameter for export.
- Create or edit a schedule, and select the parameter to export from the "Available Fields" or "Scheduled Fields" section of the dialog box.
- Click Modify or Edit.
- In the Parameter Properties dialog, click Export.
NoteThe Export option is not enabled if the selected parameter is already in the current shared parameter file.
A message displays informing you that the shared parameter will be exported to the shared parameter file you set up in Step 1.
- Click OK to complete the export.
