Split Region Tool for Compound Walls

When editing vertically compound walls, use the Split Region tool to divide a wall layer (or regions) horizontally or vertically into new regions. When you split a region, the new regions assume the same material as the original.

To split a layer or region horizontally, highlight one of the borders. A preview split line displays when you highlight a border.

After you split a region or layer horizontally, click the border between the regions. A blue control arrow displays with a temporary dimension. If you click the arrow, it switches the constraint and its temporary dimension between the top and bottom of the wall. See Modify Tool for Compound Walls.

To split a layer or region vertically, highlight and select a horizontal boundary. That boundary can be the outside boundary, or an inside boundary created if you previously split horizontally.

Eduardo2012Wed Oct 10, 2012 9:29 amPlease excuse me if the answer is within these pages but I just don´t understand yet how to extend or assign a material layer to the top cap of walls. For example when you see a detail section, and also in renders, we must be able to see which of the materials is covering the top of walls, usually being the exterior material. I know we can use the paint tool, but that doesn't give the correct graphic representation in sections and details. Basically what I'm looking for is doing to the top caps what the "wrap" at ends or inserts tools do.
loboarchWed Oct 10, 2012 10:09 amThe top and bottom edges of walls do not have controls for wrapping layers like you are describing. Using the paint tool a a method you can make it appear like there is a wrapping behavior. Beyond that you would need to model the wrapped material seperate if it was importatn to what you are showing.
