Configuring Revit for Local RPC Content

Install and configure the ACM.
This utility is available free from http://acm.archvision.com. For instructions, see the ArchVision Content Manager Help (http://acm.archvision.com/help).
Now you must specify the location of the ACM so that Revit can access the additional RPC content.
In Revit, click Options.
In the Options dialog, click the Rendering tab.
Under ArchVision Content Manager Location, select Local.
For Executable Location, specify the location of the ACM executable file (rpcACMapp.exe).
By default, Revit attempts to connect to the ACM using the IP address 127.0.0.1 (the local host) and port 14931. If it cannot connect to the ACM there, it attempts to start the ACM executable that you specify here.
Click OK.

cpriceMon Mar 11, 2013 6:15 pmAs I understand it all these links are out of date, the link in Revit for Get more RPC is dead... Its all terribly confusing.

All you need to is install the Archvision dashboard from https://www.archvision.com/Dashboard/Download, create an account and download the desired RPC's. Then restart Revit and edit an RPC element and you should see the additional RPC items.
pattygaleWed Mar 13, 2013 8:57 am@cprice: thanks for sharing your experiences with us. It may be that the latest Archvision plug-in works more intelligently and so does not require these manual steps. They may be required only when you have a special setup. I'm checking into this with Revit Development and will let you know what I learn.

We're still working to understand recent changes to ACM, and we'll update the procedure soon.
