Upgrading Material Structural Properties

When you upgrade to a new release of Revit, material structural properties are also upgraded. Pre-2013 Revit materials contain structural properties labeled as the Structural properties set. In Revit 2013, these properties are migrated to the Physical aspect.

• Each Structural property set is mapped to a property set using the physical schema.
• The 2011 Material Type parameter is converted as the property set’s Class.
• If a subtype has been named, a property set of that name is created in the project and is referenced by the material. If more than one material uses that name, they all reference the same property set.
• All property values set in the existing structural properties are maintained in the new physical properties.
