ICS_RAD_NUMERATOR

    Table of contents
    No headers

Summary: Control the rate of change of temperature for radiation analyses.

    Flag

    ICS_RAD_NUMERATOR A

A = the value that is divided by the maximum temperature (and raised to the forth power) to compute the time step size

    The default value is 5623.

    Description

Use this to control the rate of solution progression for radiation analyses.

    The time step size = (ICS_RAD_NUMERATOR/Tmax) ^4.

As the temperature results increase, this limits the time step size to increase control, thus slowing the rate of temperature change.

For example, if the ICS_RAD_NUMERATOR is set to 2500, and the maximum temperature is 1000, the time step size is:

    (2500/1000)^4 = 39 seconds.
