Nodal aspect ratio is a useful diagnostic tool for identifying regions that have highly distorted elements. A value of nodal aspect ration greater than 2000 is a good indication that there is either a problem with the geometry or that the mesh needs to be refined.
High ratio elements are typically found at tangent points or in small spaces between solid parts. Eliminate or enlarge these spaces in the CAD model for best results.
