When the Autodesk Simulation DFM plug-in is installed, a small widget appears in the CAD workspace that highlights the result of design decisions on the production of a plastic injection molded part.
The widget is comprised of three main sections.
Three indicators are displayed in the Indicator widget that highlight different aspects of the part design.
Available options for working with Autodesk Simulation DFM are sourced from the menu.
The refresh icon enables the manual update of the Autodesk Simulation DFM display.
Realistic representations of any weld lines, sink marks or short shots are available in the Finished part view.
The direction the part is ejected from the mold is called the pull direction. This direction is used to determine the draft angle, undercuts, and mold cost.
