Close, when selected from the widget menu, closes Autodesk Simulation DFM.

To reinstate the widget, re-activate the add-in from within the CAD package.

CAD package	Re-activation method
Autodesk Inventor	Select Turn on/off from the Add-Ins ribbon.
Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks	Select Turn Autodesk Simulation DFM on/off from the toolbar.
Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire and Creo Elements/Pro	From the main menu select Autodesk Simulation DFM to toggle the widget on or off

Closing Autodesk Simulation DFM does not stop the add-in which is still running in the background.
