This section provides work arounds to known issues.
If the widget is inactive while working in a 3D part environment, check the Status area for further information. The message "Unable to triangulate" indicates surface problems within the model that will need to be resolved before the Autodesk Simulation DFM widget can become active.
You will have to find and fix the problematic features and surfaces. One of the following steps could identify the area of the model where the problem occurs.
- Export the part to STL format using the default chord height tolerance.
- Export the part to STL format with a chord height of 0.1mm (0.0039in).
- If available, use to assess the part.
- Use to guide you to potential problem areas.
On re-open an existing file, the Autodesk Simulation DFM widget is not active
Re-opening an existing file occasionally disconnects the Autodesk Simulation DFM widget from the part geometry.
Click to re-generate the geometry and activate the widget
Autodesk Simulation DFM does not appear in your workspace
The Autodesk Simulation DFM Auxiliary Application is based on a standard installation of Pro/ENGINEER or Creo Elements/Pro. If there are external modifications to the protk.dat file when Pro/ENGINEER or Creo Elements/Pro is launched, Autodesk Simulation DFM may not be displayed. To rectify this, do the following:

Autodesk Simulation DFM not available after re-installing Pro/ENGINEER or Creo Elements/Pro
The Autodesk Simulation DFM add-in is linked to the copy of Pro/ENGINEER or Creo Elements/Pro that was available when the add-in was installed.
Changing the version of Pro/ENGINEER or Creo Elements/Pro will require the re-installation of the add-in.
Starting Autodesk Simulation DFM from the Auxiliary Applications dialog will disable the undo and redo function within Pro/ENGINEER and Creo Elements/Pro. To enable this feature you will need to stop Autodesk Simulation DFM. See Stop proe
