Create the Model

1. Click New on the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT).
   NoteIf the Open dialog box is already displayed, such as when Autodesk^® Simulation is first started, click the New icon at the left side of the dialog box to change to the new model mode.
   • Click the FEA Model icon and ensure that the Analysis Type is set to Linear Static Stress with Linear Material Models.
   • Click the New button.
2. Navigate to the folder where you want to place the new model.
   • Type 2-D Weldment in the File name field.
   • Click Save.

You are now in the FEA Editor environment where construction of the 2D model can begin.
