Define the Material Properties

We will now assign the material properties to all three parts.  We can assign the properties for both pressure vessel parts at once, since they have the same element type and material properties.

1. Select the Material heading for Part 1 in the browser (tree view).
2. Hold down the Ctrl key and click the Material heading for Part 2 in the browser.
3. Right-click one of the selected headings and select Edit Material.
   • Select Steel (ASTM-A36) in the list under the SteelASTM folder in the Element Material Selection dialog.  The properties  display in the section to the right.
   • Click OK.
4. Double-click the Material heading for Part 3 in the browser.
   • Select Steel (ASTM-A36).
   • Click OK.
