You can use the Internet to check for revision updates or to access the Discussion Group. The auto-revision function automatically checks your software version for the latest software revision release, which is an interim or patch release of a full release.

Note: This function only works if you have set the option for automatic notification.

When a revision is available, you will be notified when you open your Autodesk Moldflow software and asked if you want to download it automatically. You can turn off the automatic detection process and manually check for a revision release yourself. The updating process can be activated in one of the following ways:

    • When you first install a new full version of your Autodesk Moldflow software, usually from the CD
    • After a full installation, through automatic notification when you open your Autodesk Moldflow software
    • After a full installation, by manually activating the revision update through the Help menu.

    Procedures

Disabling the home page at launch

Setting preferences for Internet auto revision update

    5. Click OK.

Checking for revision update availability manually

At installation, you were asked whether you wanted to be automatically notified when there is a revision (patch) release. If you are not being automatically notified, you can manually check for an available revision update at any time.

Click Help > Web Links > Internet Auto Revision Update. The application will ascertain whether there is a later version for you to download. If there is, you will be asked to update.

    Revision Update dialog

Allows download and installation of a software revision (if available).

This dialog, which appears automatically if a software revision is available, allows you to review the improvements and enhancements included in the revision before deciding whether or not to proceed to download and install the revision.

Note: If you do not want this dialog to be displayed, clear the Enable internet auto revision update option on the Internet tab of the Options dialog.

    Download Revision dialog

Select and download the desired revisions and, (optionally) install automatically.

This dialog, which appears if you select Yes on the Revision Update dialog, allows you to select the platforms for which you want to download the update, and whether to install the revision automatically once the update file has been downloaded.

    CAUTION:
If you intend to use the Auto install update feature, ensure that you have saved all open studies before proceeding with the update. This is necessary because the automatic update forces the closure and any unsaved changes will be discarded. Always check the Job Manager dialog to ensure that there are no running jobs.
