    The Standard Size tool allows you to set default properties for feed and cooling system components. You can then select the default properties by using the individual component properties tools..

    Procedures

    Creating standard sizes

    When creating or optimizing runners, gates, cooling channels or the sprue, it is possible to select commonly used (standard) sizes for all dimensions from a list you have generated. This list can be loaded into any project for reuse as required.
    1. Click File:Simulation_Moldflow/enu/2012/Help/1Adviser/105_Modeling/140_Default_Properties/100_Standard_sizes/moldsystem_standardsize_16.png (Geometry tab > Properties panel > Defaults > Standard Sizes).
    2. Enter a standard size in the Size text box, and then click Add. The value will be moved to the list of standard sizes.
    3. Repeat previous step for each value to be added.
    4. Click Save.

      The Save As dialog appears.

    5. Enter a suitable name into the File name text box, and then click Save.

      The values are saved as a Standard Runner Sizes (*.srs) file.

    6. Click OK to save and close the dialog.
    7. The list needs to be loaded into a project before it can be used.
    Note: The standard sizes can be changed, or other values used, at any time during the modeling process.

    Loading standard sizes

    You can generate a list of commonly used or standard size runners, gates and sprues. This list can be loaded into any project for reuse as required.
    1. Click File:Simulation_Moldflow/enu/2012/Help/1Adviser/105_Modeling/140_Default_Properties/100_Standard_sizes/moldsystem_standardsize_16.png (Geometry tab > Properties panel > Defaults > Standard Sizes).
    2. Click Load.

      The Open dialog appears.

    3. Make sure the Files of type is set to (*.srs) format, locate your (*.srs) file, and then click Open.

      The values appear as a list of Standard Sizes

    4. Click OK to save and close the dialog.

    Your defined list will now appear in the related drop-down list when you are defining the size of a runner, sprue or gate.

    Standard Sizes dialog

    Set the default runner, sprue, and cooling channel sizes. These will be available from any dimension drop-down list in the Runner, Sprue, Gate and Cooling Channel properties dialogs.

    To access this dialog, click File:Simulation_Moldflow/enu/2012/Help/1Adviser/105_Modeling/140_Default_Properties/100_Standard_sizes/moldsystem_standardsize_16.png (Geometry tab > Properties panel > Defaults > Standard Sizes).

    Note: The available modeling tools depend on the mold type you selected.
