No headers The modeling grid enables you to create or relocation of parting planes, runner and cooling modeling planes, and runner and cooling channel sections.
You can choose to display the grid when you are modeling the cooling channels and runners or sizing the mold. You can also choose whether to snap to grid which helps define exact dimensions.
When defining the grid, you can choose the model grid origin, and the grid size and color.
Procedures
Defining the modeling grid properties
- Click
(. - Select Display modeling grid to visualize the grid while modeling items.

Note: If the modeling grid is displayed, you can choose the Snap to grid option to help you to draw segments precisely.
Tip: Select the Show Snap Icon option if you want to display information relative to a gridpoint before clicking on it.
- If necessary, enter a grid line spacing in the Grid size text box, and/or set a color.
Note: To change the units, click

then click
Options, and select the
General tab.
- Set the origin for the modeling grid. Select User Defined from the Position drop-down list to activate the X, Y and Z text box.
- Click OK to save and close the dialog.
Note: These settings can be changed at any time during the modeling process.
Using snap icons
- Click
(. - Select the Show Snap Icon option.
- Click OK to save and close the dialog.
