Cavity/core side assignment

    This option relates to the temperature boundary condition for a Fill+Pack analysis.

    By default, the Fill+Pack analysis assumes that both sides of the Midplane element are at the mold surface temperature value specified in the Fill/Fill+Pack Settings of the Process Settings. This option can be used in combination with the Mold temperature control setting in the Advanced Options to assign different mold surface temperatures to each side of the selected Midplane elements(s). The following settings are available:

    Top=Cavity;Bottom=Core or Top=Core;Bottom=Cavity
    Select the required one of these options if the Midplane element is in contact with both the cavity and core. The core-side and cavity-side mold temperature values in the Advanced Options will be assigned to the selected element(s) and will override the global mold surface temperature value in the Process Settings.
    Top=Cavity;Bottom=Cavity or Top=Core;Bottom=Core
    Select the required one of these options if the Midplane element is in contact with only the cavity, or only the core, for example in the case of a rib. The core-side or cavity-side mold temperature value in the Advanced Options will be assigned to the selected element(s) and will override the global mold surface temperature value in the Process Settings.
    Local mold surface temperatures
    Select this option if you want to assign mold surface temperatures directly to the currently selected element(s). These temperature values will override both the global mold surface temperature value in the Process Settings, and the core-side and cavity-side mold temperature values in the Advanced Options.
    Note To access the Mold temperature control setting referred to above, click Advanced Options on the Fill/Fill+Pack Settings page of the Process Settings Wizard, click the Edit button associated with the Process controller option, then click the Temperature Control tab.
    Note The top and bottom side of each element is defined by its orientation which can be displayed using (Mesh tab File:Simulation_Moldflow/enu/2013/Help/Insight/1572-The_mesh1572/1775-Cavity_c1775/ac.menuaro.gif Mesh Diagnostics panel File:Simulation_Moldflow/enu/2013/Help/Insight/1572-The_mesh1572/1775-Cavity_c1775/ac.menuaro.gif Orientation).
