Cool Solver Parameters dialog

    Table of contents
    No headers

This dialog is used to specify the Cool analysis related solver parameters for the selected analysis sequence.

To access this dialog, ensure that you have selected an analysis sequence that includes Cool, click (Home tab File:Simulation_Moldflow/enu/2013/Help/Insight/4168-Process_4168/4472-Cool_Sol4472/ac.menuaro.gif Molding Process Setup panel File:Simulation_Moldflow/enu/2013/Help/Insight/4168-Process_4168/4472-Cool_Sol4472/ac.menuaro.gif Process Settings), if necessary click Next one or more times to navigate to the Cool Settings page of the Wizard, then click Cool solver parameters.

Mold temperature convergence toleranceConvergence tolerances apply to the % change in a function value from one iteration to the next, and are used to identify when a solution has converged.

Tightening a convergence tolerance may improve the solution accuracy, but will increase analysis time and may lead to convergence problem warnings. Also, if the analysis is generating convergence problem warnings, try loosening the tolerance to assist the solver in completing the simulation.114

Maximum number of mold temperature iterationsThe amount of iterations that the program will perform in order to solve the simultaneous equations for mold-temperature. The program will continue until either the maximum number of iterations have been surpassed, or the error limit is less than the specified value.

Select the maximum number of mold-temperature iterations for the analysis to attempt. 115

Method for calculating geometric influenceSpecify the method used in the heat transfer calculation to take into account the temperature influence of surrounding elements on any given element.
Include runners in automatic cooling time calculationsSpecify if the runner system is to be included when automatic cooling time is calculated.
Use aggregated mesh solverMesh aggregation is a feature that reduces the number of elements of the model internal to the solver, allowing for much faster Cool analysis times.
