Analyze core using

    Table of contents
    No headers

Specifies which type of tetrahedral element to use for the core elements in the stress analysis of the core.

    The following options are available:

    4-noded tetrahedra (fastest)
This is the type of tetrahedra that are created when the core is meshed in this product. 4-noded tetrahedra require less memory (by a factor of five) and require less computation time (by a factor of 10) than 10-noded tetrahedra, however the solution is less accurate. Select this option if the core has been meshed with at least four elements across the thickness.
    10-noded tetrahedra (most accurate)
If you select this option, the 4-noded tetrahedra created in this product will be upgraded to 10-noded tetrahedra by the addition of an extra node on each tetrahedron edge. The solution with 10-noded tetrahedra is more accurate than 4-noded tetrahedra, however, the memory and computation times are considerably higher. Always select this option if the core has been meshed with only one or two elements across the thickness.
