Generate interface to Abaqus

    Table of contents
    No headers

Select the relevant Abaqus interface file option, depending on the Abaqus license that you have. This will generate an output file(s) that can be read by Abaqus for analysis.

Note In order to generate the *.osp file described below, you must run a Fill+Pack analysis.

The three possible Abaqus interface file options are described below:

    C-MOLD-Abaqus 6.2
For Abaqus / C-MOLD license holders. The Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Insight / Flow solver will produce a *.fem file and *.osp file, which are both ASCII files in the old C-MOLD Format. The extension .osp must be changed to .lsp for Abaqus 6.2 to read.
Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Insight - Abaqus 6.2
For Abaqus / Autodesk license holders. The Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Insight / Flow solver will produce a *.mab file, which is an ASCII file of the same format as in MPI 2.0.
Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Insight - Abaqus 6.3
For the Abaqus 6.3 release. The Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Insight / Flow solver will produce an *.osp file and the mesh model must be in * .pat file.
    Note

    (a) If the *.osp file generated by Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Insight contains the ~ character, rename the file to remove that character otherwise Abaqus will not be able to import the file.

    (b) Abaqus 6.2 converts the files output by a Autodesk Simulation Moldflow analysis into Abaqus input (*.inp) file, which can be used in Abaqus analyses.
