A term used to characterize geometry that does not approximate thin-walled shells.
Thin-walled shells have a clearly identifiable thickness (t) that is much smaller than the lateral dimension of the part (L); that is, (t) divided by (L) is much less than 1 (t/L <<1).<embed src="../attachments/GUID-D768CAAF-304A-485E-966A-CB55D020D274-low.svg" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/svg/viewer/install/"/>
