No headers A variety of different forms of closure approximations have been proposed. The following models are available in Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Insight:
- Hybrid
Model proposed by Advani and Tucker in 1987. S.G. Advani and C.L. Tucker,
The Use of Tensors to Describe and Predict Fiber Orientation in Short Fiber Composites, J. Rheol., 31, 751-784 (1987).
- Orthotropic 1–Orthotropic 4
Denote a family of closure approximations based on fitting particular solutions to exact solutions of the probability density function in a few well-defined flow fields, proposed by Cintra and Tucker in 1995. J.S. Cintra and C.L. Tucker,
Orthotropic Closure Approximations for Flow-induced Fiber Orientation, J. Rheol. 39, 1095-1122 (1995).
Note The default model will be appropriate for most simulations. The alternative options have been provided for specialist users conducting research into the fluid mechanics of fiber-filled materials.
