Nominal part thickness

The intended wall thickness of the part as a whole.

This is usually the wall thickness value across the majority of the part. In general, the nominal thickness should not vary by more than ten percent across the part. Some design features, such as a boss or a hinge, may be thicker or thinner than the nominal thickness, but these are local variations.
