Downloading, installing, and using Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Communicator

    In this task, you will download, install, and use Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Communicator.

    Ensure you have access to the Internet and have a Moldflow Results file (*.mfr) that you created.

    Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Communicator may have been included with your Autodesk design product, or it is available free from the Autodesk website. The following procedure shows you how to download Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Communicator.
    1. Using a web browser, navigate to the Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Communicator free download site: http://www.moldflow.com/stp/english/...r/download.htm.
    2. Complete the contact information page and click Submit Now.

      The Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Communicator download page opens.

    3. Click Download Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Communicator to download the executable (*.exe) file.

       

      NoteClick View Technical Specifications and ensure your system is supported.
      If you have a slow Internet connection, this step may take some time.
    4. Run the executable to start the Autodesk Simulation Moldflow CommunicatorInstallation Wizard, and follow the installation instructions displayed on the download page .

    You can use the Getting Started Guide to learn how to use Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Communicator. It is also available from the webpage http://www.moldflow.com/stp/english/...r/download.htm.

    1. Click Getting Started Guide to download and/or display the Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Communicator Getting Started Guide (PDF).
    2. Start Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Communicator using the Windows Start menu, and follow the exercises in the Getting Started Guide to familiarize yourself with Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Communicator.

       

      TipYou can also follow the tutorials in Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Communicator, or click Getting Started Guide on the Get Started tab to follow the help instructions.
    You can view a results file you created previously.
    1. If Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Communicator is not running, or if you want to use the Launch Wizard to open your results file, complete the following steps.
      1. Run Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Communicator using the Windows Start menu to display the Launch Wizard.
      2. Navigate to and select your results file.
      3. Click Next.
      4. Ensure Visualize results is selected and click Finish.
    2. If Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Communicator is already running and the Launch Wizard is not visible, complete the following steps.
      1. Click Get Started tab File:Simulation_Moldflow/enu/2013/Help/Insight/0024-Tutorial24/0077-Export_r77/0081-Download81/ac.menuaro.gif Launch panel File:Simulation_Moldflow/enu/2013/Help/Insight/0024-Tutorial24/0077-Export_r77/0081-Download81/ac.menuaro.gif Open Project).
      2. Navigate to and select your results file, and then click Open.
    The first result in the first study is displayed.
