    The following tables lists the model formats that you can import.

    The table below lists the various model formats that you can import by default in Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Insight

    Import through Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Design Link

    Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Design Link is an add-in which enables you to read additional model formats.

    The additional model formats that can be imported through Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Design Link are listed below.

    Some of these models can be imported in their native format using the Direct Import through Autodesk Moldflow Design Link option.

    The table below lists the additional model formats that can be imported through Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Design Link, and specifies if Direct Import is available for these file types.

    • When saving the model, ensure that the extension matches the entry in the table above.
    • Unless the model has a *.sdy file format, only a single cavity can be imported. Multiple cavity models must be separated into single cavities before import.
    5 Direct import of Autodesk Alias surfaces is not possible. However, if the native Autodesk Alias model contains a solid, then the Direct Import option can be used.
