Dual Domain and Midplane mesh repair

    Table of contents
    1. 1. Topics in this section

The following tools can be used to repair errors in Dual Domain or Midplane meshes.

    Topics in this section

    • Mesh auto repair

The Auto Repair command is used to launch an automatic search and repair of intersecting and overlapping mesh elements. It will also improve the aspect ratio of any bad elements present on the model.

    • Mesh and remesh

Many of the mesh tools involve selecting or manipulating nodes. Ensure that the nodes in the part are visible and selectable by activating the required layers in the Layers pane.

    • High aspect ratios

The aspect ratio of an element is the relationship between the width and height of an element.

    • Mesh orientation

Many of the mesh tools involve selecting or manipulating nodes. Ensure that the nodes in the part are visible and selectable by activating the required layers in the Layers pane.

    • Edge repair

If the aspect ratio of adjacent elements is such that the length of a given side is too long, and therefore impacts the mesh, you can swap edges.

    • Filling holes in the mesh

In order to analyze a model, the mesh must be complete. If there are any holes in the mesh, they must be filled.

    • Remove slivers

When importing a CAD model with Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Design Link, slivers can be introduced into the mesh.
