White streak marks are caused by:
- Moisture: streaking occurs opposite the flow direction due to a high residual moisture content; drying the material properly will remove this defect.
- Air is trapped and cannot escape while the mold is filling; the air is drawn to the surface and stretched in the direction of the flow causing streak marks.
