Did you contact our support team at the link in the above article? They are the best resource to resolve the issue. Typically 2012 files should open in 2014 with no difficulties. If there is an error occuring during the open process you will need to work with support to resolve the issue. One thing you may be able tot try is if you can access a computer with Revit 2013 you can try opening the files there to promote them to 2013 first and then try opening them on 2014.

Callout views as a whole are not allowed to be transferred because they contain model geometry. If you have a lot of detail elements placed in a callout view you can use the "Insert 2 D Elements" (found on the same pulldown) to be able to insert just the 2d elements from a callout view.

You may try taking a look at <a href= "http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Revit/enu/Community/Tips_and_Tricks/Views%2c_Visibility%2c_Graphics/Filters_with_Fill_Patterns_on_a_Linked_Project_in_Revit_2011_and_2012">this page</a> for information on applying a filter to a linked file. it may help you accomplish what you are looking to do.
If this doe s not help you might try posting this question to the <a href=http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Autodesk-Revit/ct-p/2003> Autodesk Discussion Forums</a> where the user community and Product Support Team work together to answer users’ questions. You can attach images and file there to help illustrate exactly what you are looking to accomplish.

I will share you comments with the greater Revit team about the double lines created with concrete elements.

I understand the example and how it would be of use in Revit. Does AutoCAD have the ability to automatically report/tag the area of a hatched region? it has been some time since I have used AutoCAD, but I don't remember being able to do it. You can manually add text/tags in an elevation view and use the properties of the filled region to inform you as to what to fill in for the value. of course I understand making a filled region taggable would reduce work and the possibility of errors. I will share this with the Revit team so this kind of functionality can be considered for future development.

If you are getting a flat surface after using an import, that would indicate the geometry in the import has no "Z" values. You need to make sure the imported DWG file has 3d geometry or you will not be able to use it to create a toposurface.

The problem is starting with "none" as the template. With no template you will not have elevation family markers defined and you will not have level head markers defined. All of the steps to get elevation markers defined and leevel head markers defeined would be quite extensive. You need to start you project using a template file and it will make the process of adding levels MUCH easier and you will be able to follow the steps out lined above.

If you do not have an elevation view in your project then you will need to add one before you can place a level. In the elevation view the level tool wil be avaliable and you will be able to place a level. If you are starting from one of the default templates you should have elevation views. If you are not starting from a template it is possible there are not levels in your project.

It sounds like you are just looking to schedule the windows in the project. The standard window tag will tag a window with the value contained in the type parameter "Type Mark". If you create a <a href= "http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Revit/enu/2013/Help/00001-Revit_He0/1468-Document1468/1557-Schedule1557/1559-Creating1559">schedule</a>. You can include the "Type Mark" parameter and the list of windows will be produced.

simonFri Aug 31, 2012 12:42 amHi Jeff, what would the best way to handle multiple projects (houses) on a single site?
regards
Simon
loboarchFri Aug 31, 2012 12:17 pmEach house should be it's own file and then create a common site model and link in all of the house files. If one house plan is repeated multiple times on the site you can just link it once and copy it around the site and manage the positions with shared coordinates.
